And THIS is how we do it! (+ April’s Day 4 in Zambia & Day 7 of the Magi’s Journey)

SOOO…if you have a bucket list—I think everyone needs “attended an airport home-coming for someone I loved” on it. It is a slice of heaven seeing an orphan no more–a child come into a family…and to HEAR the cheers of friends and family who have held your hand through the process…cried with you when delays […]

Adorable craft – wish I had this handy earlier in the month so I had time to prep and bring to my Sunday School yesterday. I think I could have done this one. Haha. Next year! =) Yea for tee shirt sales!

Nicki G. - December 21, 2010 - 10:54 am

Someone wins a free shirt? Me, me, me?? I love it and I love the craft. We have a family friend who’s selling this stuff to adopt a baby from Ethiopia. Too bad this shirt wasn’t available at the time of her last order… I’d love one!!

[…] and families to adoption by buying a tshirt! You can buy the shirts in the previous post right here–and as I said before I recommend going AT LEAST 1 size and maybe 2 sizes in this fitted tee. […]

Oh, these are adorable! They are like the Oriental Trading ones but way cuter! Is that where you got the idea from? Where did you get Laney’s dress from too? It’s so cute!

Bobi Bobbitt - December 21, 2010 - 4:48 pm

Have stolen this craft idea for our Birthday party for Jesus/Cookie exchange at our house tonight! I have run around town all day looking for these old clothes pins! Can’t seem to find them anywhere, about to head to Dollar General to look there! LOVE these, thanks for sharing!! I will post pics on my blog of the kids here doing this craft tonight!! (:

Magnolia Leaf Christmas Garland

FIRST and most important…guess who made ANOTHER milestone?! Our little man!!! He has been home 5 months. We arrived back in the U.S. on July 2nd–5 months ago and he was 11 months old. In FIVE (5!) months, Isaac has learned to sit independently, eat babyfoods (he couldn’t do textures or any solids when we […]

Hi Andrea,

That is incredible!! Praising God with you as you and your family celebrate another milestone. I have followed your blog for a long time now, but I’ve never commented before. I’ve been a lurker. ๐Ÿ™‚ My husband and I are just beginning the process of adopting our first child from Uganda and I can’t tell you how much of an encouragement your blog has been to me. Thank you so much for sharing your story!

Blessings, Karly

Debb - December 6, 2010 - 12:22 am

BLESSINGS to you and Isaac! May the surgery go wonderfully and the post-surgical healing go quickly!…….and may he be spared any more UTIs!!!!! :o) Great garland! Go girl! And WOW!!! Your friend is a brave soul, keeping her two children with her while she stays in Uganda and visits her son! Sending Prayers all around! :o)

Jenny - December 6, 2010 - 8:27 am

just have to say that i am soooo proud of ITY and so proud of you all! God is so good!

SleepyMom - December 6, 2010 - 9:01 am

Praying everything involved with the surgery goes smoothly. My little guy had a urological surgery when he was one too. He did so much better than I ever could have imagined. We were so nervous but he was even a champ about not getting to eat or drink anything before hand (which we honestly thought would lead to one very long meltdown). He was wanting to play and eat within 30min of waking up from the anasthesia and mostly wanting them to take that IV out of his foot!
Good luck and God bless tomorrow.

april - December 6, 2010 - 9:17 am

look at that adorable behind of his…he is scrumptious and such a miracle! so happy to see him hit another milestone!

Kristin - December 6, 2010 - 11:26 am

Sweet baby! Melt my heart why don’t ya!

Sandi - December 6, 2010 - 11:50 am

We will be praying for health for all, skilled hands to do the surgery, & a miraculous recovery. God placed orphans heavily on my heart & even though my hubby is not quite ready to adopt, I have you to thank for making me aware of Wiphan. It feels so good to know that we are supporting such an amazing cause. I would like donate my wedding dress for them to auction off but I’m not sure how to make that happen. I was saving it for my adopted daughter but feel like it would be special to have the proceeds go to Wiphan to help not one child but many. Thank you for sharing your journey. It touches my heart as I wait for my hubby to say yes to adopt!

Rebecca Harley - December 6, 2010 - 1:11 pm

way yo go – ITY!!!!! Praying for you all tomorrow

Dawn - December 6, 2010 - 2:14 pm

BUT GOD said- I have heard all of your cries and am using this AMAZING little boy to do the impossible!!!! Oh I am getting goosebumps ๐Ÿ™‚ LOVE IT!!!

missy - December 6, 2010 - 2:41 pm

Yay Isaac!!! So happy for your little man. He continues to do so well. Such an answer to prayers. Love you all!

Megan - December 7, 2010 - 12:45 am

Super cute! The mica would be pretty…but yes, messy (and expensive…we focked 6 giganto trees for our December wedding 7 years ago and the cost was up there…even buying in bulk).
Feel better mr ITY!

molly White - December 10, 2010 - 7:49 am

HUGE tears shot out of my eyes when I watched this video! So awesome!!! I am so proud of this little guy! Merry Christmas!

Becca - October 13, 2010 - 11:07 pm

So so so excited about the good news about your cutie! ๐Ÿ™‚ maybe we could hang out again sometime soon?

Momma said there’d be days like this…

Do you ever just have one of those days? Well…today was that here. Richard has been out of town on business since Tuesday morning–and today was our day “off” from doctor appointments. Isaac didn’t sleep last night that well, and he woke up having trouble breathing. We did breathing treatments, called the doctor and they […]

Hey Andrea,

Just wanted to share that a friend of mine adopted a little boy who was not circumcised and she said he was sick for the first 6 months after they brought him home. He was getting constant UTI’s and it weakened his immune system so he caught everything else as well. Well, the Drs. thought she was crazy but she insisted on getting him circumcised and once he had the surgery he was totally healthy with no more troubles. Just a thought. My little man is not circumcised either so I’ve filed that info. in the back of my brain in case we need it. Praying for you all and ITY.

Blessings to you,

Billie Hobbs - September 9, 2010 - 9:28 pm

I am praying that Isaac T will sleep tonight, so both of you will be rested for the pulmonary exam tomorrow. We are keeping positive thoughts for ways to resolve Isaac’s lung problems. God bless you and your family. What an amazing job you are doing, Andrea. I am in awe of you. May God continue to hold your hand.

melissa - September 9, 2010 - 10:08 pm

I second the BlueBerry Pie!!! It is amazing!!! We ate ours in two days!!!Yes, Sweet friend, with all you have going on, I appreciate you thinking of us during this tough time. This alone will make me buy that cookbook!!

Jenny - September 9, 2010 - 10:43 pm

Praying, Praying, Praying that He provides rest and peace to your family tonight/tomorrow. LOVE the glimpse into your home through your blog:)

Becca - September 9, 2010 - 10:49 pm

I want some of that blueberry pie! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will be praying that you get some sleep tonight . . . and I’m totally serious when I say that if you EVER need me to watch the kiddos so you can go to the dr etc, I’d be happy to ๐Ÿ™‚

Je - September 9, 2010 - 10:53 pm

Praying for you…thankful to follow behind those of you that have prepared the way… the real and imperfect beautiful way!

Sara - September 10, 2010 - 12:38 am

Saying a prayer for Isaac (and you) tonight.

Suzanne - September 10, 2010 - 9:20 am

Aren’t girlfriends just so awesome?! God sure knows when we need one of our BFFs. Hope your little man feels better and you and your family have a wonderful, restful weekend.

We are kicking off our first fundraising giveaway later this afternoon. Please stop by our blog and leave a comment. If you could help us spread the news about our give away, we would so much appreciate the help of getting the word out.

What would we do without the body of Christ to help us with our needs, to pray for us, to stand in the gap and pray our little peeps home?

Blessings to you!

Elle J - September 10, 2010 - 10:29 am

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a restful weekend with your family. Praying for God’s wisdom through all his doctor’s appointments. He truly is adorable – just like his brother Frank. TOO CUTE!!!

Andrea – THANK YOU! I’ve already being feeling sick about Christmas this year and how out of control it can get. That’s exactly what I’m going to do! Adoption items for all!! So glad you took your little man in. Thank you Jesus for great friends too!

jenn - September 10, 2010 - 4:56 pm

We are praying for you here (and commiserating too with my hubby gone). Hoping IT has a successful apt. tomorrow and you can get some much needed answers!!

Faith - September 13, 2010 - 12:28 am

Saw something that made me think of ITY. A mom mentioned on her blog that her son had a bloated tummy and her naturopathic doctor said it could be from yeast. He told her about some sort of treatment (she didn’t provide a name) that helped with the overgrowth of yeast and her sons stomach returned to a normal size. I’m assuming ITY’s stomach has something to do with his hypotonia but perhaps there is also an additional, underlying overgrowth of yeast.
Just thought I’d pass it on!
