Easter Garland…and cultivating waiting on God {Deut.10,11,12}

CRAFT TIME!!! OK…here’s your craft inspiration for the week…Easter Garland… OK…just had to make that image BIG…because I LOVE THAT PICTURE of one of our Zambian girlies! The garland doesn’t touch her cuteness…BUT if you want to make the egg garland… 1. Create holes in both ends of an egg using a sharp object (I […]

Reading about your browsing through that store made me tear up – only because I’ve so been there! I feel the same. That overall I’m doing great, but I have my days where that’s all I can think about! And I feel guilty as my Lil Man is running around playing so patiently without me as I’m browsing blogs and bawling reading about mommies finally holding their sweet ones in their arms after their long wait. It can be. So. Hard. I hear ya.

april - March 16, 2010 - 1:08 am

ohhh girl…i need to tell my sister about that egg craft…she has little ones that I think would like doing it! Your seriously so crafty and creative! Love all your ideas! :0)

Amy @ Filled With Praise - March 16, 2010 - 8:57 am

Andrea, I love the craft. So cute. I also feel your longing for Issac. You know I can relate. I feel like I am Elijah’s Mommy, so I should have him now. I don’t even know what he looks like, smells like or feels like, but I know I am his and he is mine. One day…some day…hopefully soon.
Blessings,
Amy

Wish I could give you a big warm hug and sit down with you and have coffee and chat. That would distract your waiting heart. 😉 My 6 yr old reminded me of his favorite song this morning. Our God is an AWESOME God! He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom, power and love our God is an AWESOME God. Always lean on Him and you will find the comfort you need. Hugs today! ♥

Renea - March 16, 2010 - 9:06 am

P.S. If I ever get to your house I’m stealing that big ‘ole picture over your fireplace!!!! It’s to die for!!! ♥♥♥♥

Jennifer - March 16, 2010 - 10:08 am

Great post! Yes, this waiting journey is full of ups and downs. I posted about my down and back up journey last Friday:-) I also did a Wiphan shout out yesterday. Blessings!
Jenny

Love the craft but the portrait over the fireplace is beyond FABULOUS! WOW!
I know the ups, downs and distractions of the WAIT.
And I also know that God is working mightily behind the scenes!
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
Kim

Yes, I’m still here. You described how I feel, only I have no little ones to help distract me at home. I wish I did. 🙁 BUT I do have work, hubby, church, & all the little ones there to help. Sometimes it’s hard though when I’m home alone & the house is too quiet with nothing to do but think…….. Thanks for this encouragement.

A Great Read…

No new number…YET. Maybe our day is tomorrow. I don’t expect much movement though…but the Lord’s timing is ALWAYS perfect and I rest in the God of all comfort—who I am trusting to comfort my baby where ever he is! A couple of random things to share today… First, I am SO humbled and thankful […]

You make His word come alive with truth and relevance!

Marci - March 3, 2010 - 10:06 am

I am a little ahead and in Joshua they blew their horns for 7 days straight …not a single word only horns…and the walls of Jericho came tumblng down ! I think I am going to wear a whistle and blow it each time sin enters my heart ! I am right their with yu on today’s reading in Numbers ! Keep it coming, Andrea !

Elle J - March 3, 2010 - 10:47 am

Andrea, you have a gift. I totally agree with Kim’s comment. Thank you for blogging the Bible Study Readings.

Nikki - March 3, 2010 - 3:04 pm

You’re doing great, Andrea! I’m a few days behind… after the heinousness of the last several weeks… but I’m catching back up… hopefully will be all caught up by the weekend. This accountability thing is WONDERFUL. If you think about it, please pray for our daughter’s test results; they should come back later today and we hope to have a better understanding of what she’s dealing with and next steps. Thanks. 🙂

Lauren - March 3, 2010 - 3:54 pm

Thanks for stopping by!!! Kiersten is our case manager – though I’ve heard that they’re all fabulous! I’m praying for our # on Friday and have been told it’s right around 30 right now for the boys … so we’ll see! SOOO exciting though! You should get your March update soon, too, right? I can’t wait to see how much the numbers have decreased – hoping it goes fast! You have such a beautiful family!! 🙂

Dawn - March 3, 2010 - 5:03 pm

Needed to hear that!

Megan - March 5, 2010 - 1:31 am

I’m finally caught up on readings too. And MAN Tuesday’s reading was great, I agree! I’m right there with you, looking to the left and the right wishing I had something I didn’t. And then in the next breath I’m furious at myself. Why can’t I have that? BECAUSE WE’RE ADOPTING!!! What do I want more? Some new makeup (or car, or jewlery, or clothes, or computer, ect) or my baby? Easy peasy, right? You would think! And yet I struggle with it EVERY DAY! Ugh….I make myself furious with myself. Reading 11:4-6 I was SO frustrated that they were seriously wishing to be back in Egypt! But how often have I done that? Reflect on the past because of difficult circumstances. Umm…every day maybe?!? So what’s the deal? My commentary (summerized) makes it simple. When you are no longer seeing with eyes of faith, you fail to see the big picture – the GOD picture. Keep our eyes on God and his promises.

Living a Life of Redemption

Ok…for those of you wanting a scoop from the Adopting for Life Conference…here goes my 2 cents. If you are a believer, you are called in some way to live a life of redemption for the glory of God. Our God is a redeeming God. He heals the sick. He fathers the fatherless. He forgives […]

Renea - March 2, 2010 - 8:23 am

Thanks for all the links and sharing your heart everyday. I listen to David Platt on my podcasts and think he is an amazing pastor sharing the word of God. Plus, my study this morning included Ruth! I love when we have those little coincidences! 😉 Congratulations on an awesome seminar and experiencing God’s redeeming love all around!

Megan - March 3, 2010 - 6:52 pm

This tied in right with our sermon this week! We have been reading through Ruth! Thank you!

What does His faithfulness sound like? (Lent Day 2 & Leviticus 7-8:36)

The Sound of His Faithfulness… Over and over again in the old testament as we have been reading together, we have seen God’s people build alters…stones of remembrance…that thank Him and honor His faithfulness in their lives. When they would pass it, they would remember how the Lord delivered. They would remember His faithfulness. I […]

Andrea, do you realize the power of the wind chimes is from what we can not see…..
the wind is sooo representative of the Holy Spirt and the result of the Holy Spirit is all about Faith. Hebrews 11:1 …Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we cannot see…Voila ! We hope to hear the chimes and by the power of something invisible it happens. The faith of the promise of the Lord through out the OT delivered His people through the tough times. Such a gift from God that your children picked wind chimes to be their reminder ,their stones of remebrance. How sweet you are and guided by the Holy Spirit to help your children on thier journey to Christ Jesus. I bet little one in Africa will hear bells and chimes coming from his Atlanta family…The Holy Spirit can send those sweet sounds all the way across the seas ! And our mustard seed reminds of our faith to believeth all things are possible through Chrit Jesus !

What a beautiful post 🙂

Elle J - February 18, 2010 - 11:31 am

I seem to be stuck on the same comment, but I speak the truth ~ another amazing post! =) I just love reading and learning from you and your family experiences, and your writings on the Bible readings. Enjoy your day.

Heather - February 18, 2010 - 10:30 pm

I thought the same thing! How messy that must have been & how grateful I am that JESUS died on the cross for the ultimate sacrifice! I’m so thankful for His sacrifice!
