Drawn from Water…

{PLEASE TURN OFF MUSIC ABOVE BEFORE WATCHING VIDEO}

Just wanted to share another sweet African ministry with you. THIS IS REAL. THIS is happening today. What if I made my spring break and summer planning more about things like this than anything else? What if we spent our lives fighting for the children who no one else fights for? Whose responsibility are they anyway? I really believe—that I’m responsible. Because I am His. They are also mine. Help me Lord to not look to the left or the right—not to worry about what the world is doing or what I might be missing out on…and instead to keep my eyes on what you want me to have my eyes on.

I asked my husband last night if something was wrong with me and if he thought that my blog readers thought I was crazy. He said, “Yes and yes.” And then he said, “You are crazy. But that’s the way He made you—and I like it.” I just got out a stack of my old journals and started reading them. As I read one that was written in 10 years ago exactly, my words then sound very much the same now. The Lord calls us to be set apart—and for each of us…that will look different when we follow Him with reckless abandonment. And it’s not always fun or easy…or even exciting. But the Lord wants to use YOU—in ways you could never imagine. He can use you right where you ARE…today.

Use us Lord to make a difference! Help us Lord to open our hearts…our checkbooks…our time…and our homes to love more and to let the little children like the “Mingi children” in Africa experience life and an opportunity to grow up knowing you. They rescue them from water—let us also rescue them for You. Help me Lord to not be protective of my own children as I follow—to trust Your plan for me and to allow them to grow up knowing what it means to be Your hands and feet. Oh that this would be our story! Living this way won’t be easy for this mommy—for my family—or for those that are reading this with the same heart…and for those chose to join us…but I believe in You…I believe You want us to live for You…and truly–just as love is a choice–we chose to live for You…Your love is calling enough for us to follow.

Today’s Scripture Reading: Joshua 10:1 – 12:6

And the sun stood still so that Joshua and his army could win the battle over the Gibeonites. Joshua got into a mess when he started to walk by sight instead of faith. Psalm 33:1 says, “But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” God’s will for us is not multiple choice. “If any of you really determines to do God’s will, then you will certainly know” John 7:17. Let us not lean on our own understanding, but seek to follow His will…THE path He has chosen for us to follow. And let us take heart from today’s reading. He is always, always, always able to perform miracles to lead us to victory even when we make mistakes. Help us Lord to walk by faith and not by sight—and to not fret over the choices…and to follow the Way we know your heart is leading us. Help us to be brave…as it may not be the most glamourous path…but to trust you for every step of the way—and to be couregous to follow.

OMG! I love that ministry! I just shared it last week again with someone. And I shared it with my pastor’s wife on Monday at revival! She just couldn’t believe that such things still happen in our world. That’s where we come in! Making sure as many people know that we can tell! Someone called me ‘weird’ just last week. I’m okay with that. God made me ‘weird’ with a purpose and a plan! Following Him wherever He may lead me! Much love to you girlfriend! From one crazy woman to another! ♥

Thank you for posting that! I have people think I’m crazy much of the time, but that’s okay. I think sometimes people feel uncomfortable when reminded of the world outside of our country.
